Shreyoshi and Subhro met on a warm August afternoon - as Subhro stood outside Fernhill Garden Apartments with Cheeku (specimen 1 below).

The Senguptas (led by Cheeku) were looking to get their first house - and Shreyoshi, led by her friend Nimesh, was looking to get a cab.

Given her love for dogs is legendary (just kidding), she ran 20 metres away as soon as she saw Cheeku (it could have been because of Subhro as well - but we will blame it on the dog for now).

It is at this moment that the gods sensed serendipity and magic happened - Subhro and Shreyoshi saw each other. And Shreyoshi ran away...

Subhro screamed and asked Shreyoshi whether she lived in Fernhill and what she thought about it ?? By this time Shreyoshi had already made a 100 mt sprint, but thankfully had given her number to Banalata (specimen 2, the evil twin of Subhro, now in UK)

Over time they spoke (Subhro slyly inquiring where Mr. Das and the kids were - they were clearly not in the scene). They fell in love - over mutton biriyani from Oh! Calcutta and a shared love for spending money - and they found their differences - she liked Shahrukh Khan, he liked Wes Anderson, She liked to go out - he liked to bury himself in the house and sleep at 9 PM.

They talked, debated, fought every Friday (Cheeku mediated of-course) and in the end they decided that like everything in life, they will "work on it"...

In July 2023 Subhro and Shreyoshi embarked on a 6 month exercise. Every week Shreyoshi would come 2 mts closer to the door of the Sengupta household. Subhro on the other hand will have to stay awake past 10. Slowly things began to progress - Shreyoshi was inside the house; Subhro saw his first Shahrukh Khan movie in ages. Shreyoshi sat on the couch; Subhro stayed awake post 11...

12 weeks later, Cheeku decided that this was enough dedication shown on part of both and okayed the marriage.

And since then Subhro, Shreyoshi and Cheeku have lived happily ever after....or wait...the story has just begun :)
